Happy Birthday To Maggie....

Maggie: My wonderful younger sister. She is now 12 years old and a very sweet young lady. I am very happy to have a Maggie in our family. Life in our home would not be half as joyous with out her! Here are twelve things I love about my sister that I would like to share:

1. Her calm, sweet, temper. She can control her temper in most every situation.

2. She is a very personable girl. She has different ways of putting things that I would not even be able to describe as she says it.

3. She is a wonderful artist. I learn a lot from how she draws and paints things.

4. She is eager to learn and loves to show people new things that she has learned.

5. Her cheerfulness is contagious.

6. When we get sick she usually gets it the worst of us all, but doesn't complain.

7. She is very creative and has an idea for almost every project we tackle.

8. She is good at describing details that happen if we go on vacation or a if she remembers a childhood moment.

9. She is good at accomplishing tasks thoroughly and quickly.

10. She cares about people's feelings and gets very upset if she makes some one sad.

11. She is a Christian and loves the Lord.

12. She is the best Maggie I have ever known, and I know quite a few!

I am so thankful for 12 wonderful years of Maggie!

Have a wonderful, blessed, cheerful, happy, exciting, enthralling, joyous, birthday Maggie!!!
May God bless you and keep you on His perfect plan for your life!

And may you all have a blessed day!

  4. Hi Leah! :d Thank you so much for stopping by our blog the other day and for commenting! :D It's such a pleasure to meet you dear! :D

Aww, how sweet! :D My sister is my best friend...it's great that you cherish you're relationship with your sister as well. :) And happy (belated) birthday Maggie! :)

Umm, regarding your question about the crocheting...I do have some things that might help you. ;) Here is a link to some video's that may help you out some. :) http://www.youtube.com/user/LionBrandYarn#g/a

And then you can go to their site where you can find more helpful info in the "learning center" at the top of the page...here http://cache.lionbrand.com/. This is my favorite site for free patterns as well, for all ages and styles and area's of skills. ;D You can find a stitch dictionary here... http://cache.lionbrand.com/cgi-bin/faq-search.cgi?store=/stores/eyarn&dictionaryOfAbbreviations=1. If you click on the links/names, it takes you to another page which shows you how to do each stitch. :)

When learning how to crochet, I try to pick projects that are very simple and only have a couple or so different stitches to learn. I like to start off with making a square or "block" with just one stitch to learn, such as single crochet (or "sc" abbreviated) or something else like that. :) It's very easy and you can make a blanket (afghan) with the blocks when you are all done! :D It's like a sampler quilt. ;) You can find books for making afghan blocks and ones all about different stitches in the library.

The library is the best place to go for books on learning crafts. :) Look for children's books on crocheting...I know they may seem juvenile, but since they are meant for younger children, sometimes they can be more helpful than the adult books. ;) That's where I get a lot of mine from. I do have a few from there I could recommend for crocheting...but I will have to look them up first, so I'll have to get back to you on those when I can. :)

I hope that will help get you started! :D If you have any further questions, let me know! I'd love to help if I could! :) And I'll get back to you with some names of good books to look for okay? :) It will probably be after Christmas though before I can do that. ;)

    Blessings!
    Merry Christ-mas!
