Here are some standards and goals that I am striving to live by.
1. I will strive to wear modest clothing that pleases God.
2. I will not have any physical contact with any man during anytime until I am married and to my husband only.
3. I will save my first kiss for my wedding day to my husband.
4. I will stay mentally pure.
5. I will not get any tattoos.
6. I will not swear. ( The Lord's name or any others that do not give any meaning to sentences "What the -" as an example and other crude language.)
7. I will strive for excellence and not perfection. Only God is perfect and has perfect actions.
8. I will try not to say nasty comments about my friends, family, or any one that I know, gossip included.
9. I will think before I start reading a knew book if it will give me any wisdom or knowledge.
10. I will pray at the very least, once a day. (Not including meals.)
Do you have any standards of yours, that you would like to share? :-)
I hope that you are having a blessed day!
Great list! I really liked #7. I'm a perfectionist, so it really helped my perspective. I'd never thought of listing out my standards, I'll have to do that!
ReplyDeleteVery good list!:-) I also have one more. Reading my bible everyday.
ReplyDeleteHope to see you soon,
Mattie(:
Good idea Mattie! I'll add that to my list!
ReplyDeleteI bet this is one you already have, but just didn't write down. Anyway, one of mine is not to watch television or have cable in the home. We only watch videos that we select and fit the criteria of Philippians 4:8.
ReplyDeleteGreat Idea! I don't exactly have that as a standard. Because we watch the Duggars. :) But other than the duggar, its movies for my family.:) I am going to add that to my list Miss Lydia!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! Have you ever seen "Pamela's Prayer"? It is about a dad raising a daughter to wait till marriage until you kiss. It is a great Christian film and there is also an episode of "7th Street Theater" called "One Lucky Lady" that goes along with the other film. We be glad to loan these to you and your family. Theron
