Driving.

 Driving has recently been taken off my back burner and I've tried to be a little more systematic. Thursday was my first time on the high way. It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be and I haven't crashed in to anything or anyone. ;-)

Driving reminds of our steering wheel of life. I often think that I am in control of the accelerator and brake and the steering wheel when I'm driving on through my life, but at times it seems I am not really in control at all. It seems are seat at the wheel is not ours' to drive. Because God is right there guiding our car of life. We're inadvertently in the back seat, watching God drive our life. When life moves by quickly...God is with us. Carefully shaping our minds and helping us on the fast roads of life. Pushing down the brake, making us slow down, building patience in our hearts and shaping our emotions. God is steering and guiding through the twists and turns, crossings, the bends, and curves of our road. Sometimes we drive at a 100 miles an hour down distant, narrow roads, other times long stretches go by as we sit stopped at a red light.
God is with us every mile of the way and is steering our life with overflowing care and love.

To me that's really comforting. I don't think I am a very practiced driver of my life and I make so many mistake. Knowing that God is guiding my path is such a relief. :-)

For such is God,
Our God forever and ever;
          He will guide us until death.
            Psalm 48:14

Are any of you driving, learning to drive or wanting to drive?

  2. Awesome post! Isn't it wonderful when we can compare something in real life to the word of God? I love it when that happens.

    Kelsey,

    Thanks. :-)

    I love being able to relate to God's word with circumstances. It's so unique. :-)

    I know. Driving is still a little scary for me too. My mom gets nervous around me all the time. Although I think she MIGHT be getting more comfortable. ;-D

    Blessings to you all!
