Summer Sewing
After buying some fabric on Memorial day I had it all planned out what I was going to sew.
So, with my free time I sewed a cheerful summer dress.
I used this pattern again...
It's made out of turquoise patterned cotton, which I bought at Joann's.
Sewing is so much fun! :-)
{Photos taken by my Sister.}
What have you been up to this summer?...

That is so beautiful! I love the simplicity of the dress, with still a touch of elegance. Very nice job!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day! xxxx~Kelsey
This is so pretty! I've been trying to design my own banana peal skirt for some time now, but I never can get up the courage to actually start cutting out the pieces! ;) How long have you been sewing? I started when I was about 11. (I'm 18 now!)

Very pretty, Leah - you sew well!
ReplyDeleteGod bless,
Rachel
P.S Thank you for stopping by our blog and leaving such a lovely comment! :)
Thank you Kelsey!
ReplyDeleteI hope your having a happy summer.

Nice to meet you, Heather Joy!
That sounds like a really neat skirt!
The cutting out of a project is the hardest part for me, too.
I am always afraid I've done something wrong! :-)
I've been sewing for a long time. I made a doll out of paper towels when I was about 9 years old and have loved it ever since. I started sewing on a sewing machine when I was probably around ten or eleven, too.
Thanks for stopping by! Tell me if finish your skirt. I'd love to know how it turns out. :-)

Thank you Rachel Beth!
I am glad I visited your blog. It's inspiring. :-)
Blessings,
Leah
Hello Leah!
ReplyDeleteYay! You finished the sewing project! Thanks for sharing the pictures...
I've been doing a lot of Bible memory, playing the piano, mowing :), watching little children and cooking.
Do you play any instruments?
Blessings, Leah! {BTW, I like your name. 'Tis very pretty...}
Bethany Joy
You sound busy, Bethany! :-)
ReplyDeleteYes. I play piano and violin. Up until December I had been playing both, but I've stopping taking piano lessons so I could concentrate on violin. I try and keep up on piano as much as I can so I don't forget how. :-)
You play piano? I know your sister plays violin. How long have you been playing piano? :-)
Thanks so much for your sweet comment!
Blessings,
Leah
BTW...Thank you Bethany! I love your name, too. :-)
Before my sister was born that's the name I wanted her to have. (Although my sister's middle name is Joy.)
Maybe someday I'll name my daughter Bethany. :-)
Does every one call you Bethany Joy or just Bethany?
Yes, I do play the piano. I enjoy it a lot -- especially long, hard songs, that take a while to learn :) I started learning with I was 5, so about 10 years. I wasn't to consistent all the time though. I also own a flute, which I would like to learn when I get my braces off...
ReplyDeleteLeah! You could have your sister record you playing a violin or piano song and post it on your blog *huge grin*
When my older sister was born, Amy, my dad wanted to name her Bethany Joy...but they decided against it. No, my family doesn't call me Bethany Joy, I just go by that in the blogger world =) I have nicknames which I would not wish to mention here :) That's neat that your sister's middle name is Joy! What is your middle name?
*hugs*
Bethany Joy
P.S. Thank you for all the sweet comments! They brighten my day!
Bethany,
ReplyDeleteMy sisters play piano, too. I wonder how hard the flute would be. It sounds like a fun instrument! :-)
I don't think I'll be posting any recordings any time soon. :-D
I am only on Suzuki book 2. Thanks for the idea. :-)
You should do some recordings, too! ;-D
My dad wanted to name me Jemima. But, uh...My mom wasn't to fond of it. ;-)
I like the name though. It reminds me of Jemima puddle duck by Beatrix Potter.
My middle name is Catherine. :-)
Hugs. :-)
Blessings,
Leah
Thank you for your kind comments!
Very pretty! Wonderful job:)
ReplyDeleteI'm not good at sewing though I find it kind of fun:)
-Mina:)
Beautiful dress! Sewing is a wonderful skill to have!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mina! :-)
