Modesty

Modesty is one thing that is important to me. Peoples opinions of modesty are definitely different from one another. The bible gives some guidance on Modesty. I will show you three main points of Modesty, that I have found to help me dress more appropriately. But before I tell what I have found I would like your thoughts on the subject. What do you call modest? What are your standards? I will address my ideas on modesty tomorrow. So keep on the look out for more on this subject. :)

  1. Leah,
I love that you have posted on this. I once heard someone say that if you are dressing in a way that will draw someone's eyes to any part of your body other than your face, you are not dressing modestly. I agree that it is a very important quality to have.

  2. I agree with Marcy and your thoughts too. However, I think that we can dress attractively without being frumpy while still being very modest. I'm not one for jumping on stylish bandwagons, but for larger women, wearing clothes that are too big make us look bigger. Lately I've thought more of wearing/making skirts longer than the knee b/c when bending down, it is definitely not modest. It's very difficult finding appropriate clothing that doesn't add extra poundage but that's no excuse for being immodest.

  3. Great thoughts! Comments are one thing I like about having a blog! I agree with both of you it is important not to draw attention to your body but your face and it is very difficult to find the in between of too loose and to tight clothing. But if we ask for guidance from God it's very possible. :)
