Proverbs 22: 6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
With this verse I think about how I will train my children when I am married, if we are trying to guide our children on the narrow and godly path we need to be near them every step of the way. If they are away from home for most of the day, how can we lead our child to salvation? Public schools and even private don't have one on one time with their students and public schools definitely do not have a christian based education. If we want to help our Children find Jesus than we must be with them and help them grow to know him, and better understand our purpose on earth.Only through God can our children come to Christ, but we must show them Jesus even if they do not come to Jesus . If they do not have a christian example from their parents, it is much harder for them to have faith and accept Christ. This post is to show that if we want our children to follow in Christ's footsteps we must work at training them the right way and making the right choices for their future.
I agree with your thoughts. In some ways it is much easier for young people to come to faith in Jesus Christ as their Christian parents make sacrifices to lead them on the narrow path as they walk it themselves. It can be very difficult for a parent to stomach if one of their beloved children depart or reject the faith. It's one of those instances where we must trust in the sovereignty of God that the elect will come to know Him. The most difficult thing for God to do (as if anything is too difficult for Him) is to change the human heart, but He does this all the time - no matter the upbringing. The Christian heritage will make some sanctification easier when the children come to Christ. That is an era of Christ-like character development that I envy in your generation.
