Proverbs 22: 6

Proverbs 22: 6

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

With this verse I think about how I will train my children when I am married, if we are trying to guide our children on the narrow and godly path we need to be near them every step of the way. If they are away from home for most of the day, how can we lead our child to salvation? Public schools and even private don't have one on one time with their students and public schools definitely do not have a christian based education. If we want to help our Children find Jesus than we must be with them and help them grow to know him, and better understand our purpose on earth.Only through God can our children come to Christ, but we must show them Jesus even if they do not come to Jesus . If they do not have a christian example from their parents, it is much harder for them to have faith and accept Christ. This post is to show that if we want our children to follow in Christ's footsteps we must work at training them the right way and making the right choices for their future.

Scripture For Sunday

Psalm 49: 6-7
They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; None of them can by any means redeem their brothers, nor give to God a ransom for him:

Proverbs 17:22

Proverbs 17 : 22
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

What do you think this verse means? When I look at it. It makes me think about how our attitude is very important especially when something is going wrong. If you are in the middle of a project and you are interrupted you might feel annoyed and bothered but if you face it with a cheerful attitude than things will go a lot more smoothly. This verse also seems to say that your attitude can change the attitude of everyone around you. If your attitude is cheerless and annoyed than everyone will join in with the mood and the whole group will be a mess. But if you add cheerful and encouraging words than every one will feel better.

What is your perception of this verse?

John is home

John is home! He was released from the hospital at around 2:00 today. John had a great night and his cough is healed enough so that he is back home. It looks like he is on the right road to healing completely. Praise Jesus! Thank you all for your prayers. Please keep praying that there will be no more complications, such as pneumonia and other sicknesses. Thank you for your sympathy and support.

Following Your Heart 2

My sister saw an ad in a magazine for birth control that read "You know in your heart when things are right. When your family is complete, choose Essure."

This statement is one example that tells you that you can make your own decisions just by knowing in your heart when some thing is right. But as scripture says:

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it.
Jeremiah 17:9

If we are striving for a life that pleases God than this ad surely contradicts his word. We need to live our whole life up to God. If God gives us 30 children we should praise his name and ask him for guidance.

Psalm 127: 3-5
Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man ; so are children of the youth.
Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

The devil is lurking closely behind us at every turn, we must look for signs of deception.
We must ask God for his wisdom when we make decisions and by also looking at scripture.

Proverbs 16: 9
A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this subject feel free to share your opinion.

Update on John

Thanks everyone for the prayers! John seems to be getting better little by little. His coughing fits are getting shorter. He has not had a coughing fit that has stopped him from breathing, since Saturday. My mother was getting stressed out yesterday. But my Father and I stayed with her for the whole day today. She feels better now that she's had company. We'll go back tomorrow in the evening. She has to stay with John all the time, so it can get tedious. Especially since she is John's food source. : ) Praise God for the improvement.

John

How can you not love that cuteness? :)

My brother John who was said to have bronchitis is in the hospital. My mom called the nurse hot line yesterday because John has been having bad coughing fits. He has been having a hard time breathing with some of his coughing fits. He turned blue more than once in the past couple days. We found out that he has whooping cough, and we will be getting the results to confirm that around Tuesday. Thank the Lord we got him to the hospital in time. A lot of times whooping cough gets mixed up with bronchitis, mostly because it doesn’t sound like a whoop in infants. If some baby’s are not treated soon enough, they can die. My mom has been staying with John in the hospital. And our aunt stayed with us yesterday and today.Whooping cough usually lasts a whole three months. But probably at least two weeks. The hospital is probably the best place for John. Please pray for John's recovery, for my parents they have been stressed out and worried about John. It's hard when your child is sick. Thank you!

Following Your Heart

The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately sick; who can understand it?
Jeremiah 17:9

In the world, over and over again we are told to follow our hearts. But isn't following your heart just another way of doing what you desire? Does it mean that if you feel like lying that you should? Or maybe stealing something because your heart told you to? Is that the right way of thinking? Should we really be letting our hearts lead us into its own ways? If we our trying to let God lead us then the best way is his way. So instead of following our own wicked hearts, God says that we should follow him. Through him comes all great power, no human can ever replace his favor and approval. In this we must strive for his pleasure and all abiding rule.

As for God, his way is perfect.
2 Samuel 22:31

This is a post I put on the family blog once already. But I wanted to share it again.
